Pastor Bill Schaefer
Pastor Bill Schaefer is the senior pastor at the Maple Grove Church of the
Brethren, a position he has held for nine years. He began his ministry as a
lay speaker for the United Methodist Church and has served several local UM
churches as an interim pastor. He will graduate from Ashland Theological
Seminary this June with a masters in practical theology.
Pastor Bill currently serves as the vice president for the local Ashland Community
Ministerial Association and on the National Day of Prayer committee. He is also
a charter member and the mentor/educational trainer for the Ashland Appleseed
chapter of Toastmasters International.
Pastor Bill and his wife DeeDee live in Ashland. They have two grown children,
Alaina and Eric (wife Jessica) and one granddaughter, Lily, all of whom live in
Florida. Their at-home “children” include a rescued Shiba Inu dog named Meeko
and a rescued orange-marmalade cat named Holly. The couple enjoys traveling
to Florida to see their family as well as exploring the country in their camper.
Pastor Bill is an avid reader and puzzler, spending many hours relaxing through
crossword puzzles.
